In a workshop on teaming and collaboration that I teach at the Institute of Design once of the most successful portions of my workshop involves running the class through a workshop using something called the Creative Problem Solving Profile that is supplied by Basadur Applied Creativity.
This profile represents a rudimentary exercise that can help you understand where some of your challenges lie in teaming effectively. Developed by Min Basedur the profile is now supported by some robust education modules that work equally well in academia and the enterprise. I not only use it at ID but it is also used at Microsoft.
Min recently has partnered with GK VanPatter and Elizabeth Pastor and the Next Design Leadership Institute to offer the survey online and give some great background on what makes it so compelling. See also a great online interview between GK and Min called ReThinking Design. Special thanks to ID student Ido Mor for pointing this out.
