Next week is going to be an exiciting and busy week. I'm off to Austin for three big events.
First up, Refresh Austin for a SxSWi meetup. I'll be doing a panel on UX with the fine talent of Nick Finck, Bryan Veloso, and Stephan P. Anderson.
Second up, Barcamp Austin hosted by the immitable Whurly and usual Republic of Texas suspects. I'm new to Barcamps and the last one I went to was awesome. I'm looking forward to this one and seeing new friends again. Heck, I might come bearing gifts.
Finally, it's off to South by SouthWest. In addition to catching up with old and new friends I'll be hosting a low key event before the Web awards. Swing on by!
Here are details for the event which is on Sunday, March 11, 2007
Happy Hour Sponsored by Microsoft Expression Studio
5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Platinum Lounge (in the Austin Convention Center)
Join your fellow SXSW attendees for pre-award cocktails and hors d'oeuvres sponsored by Microsoft Expression Studio in the SXSW Platinum Lounge. Show up early and get an exclusive ExpressionSession07 evaluation kit containing evaluation copies of Microsoft's new professional design tools including a fully licensed version of Expression Web and limited edition art by LA-based artist Travis Millard and NYC-based artist Ricky Powell.
Say hi to Stephen for me. We haven't met in person but have connected digitally. He's a bright guy.

Hey Chris,
I'm one of the staff @ BarcampAustin w/ whurley. I'd love to meet you in person and talk about UI Evangelism. I'm at Symantec and it's very interesting to read some of your posts about how taxing this seemingly virtual role can be :)
