I am not able to view the videos. What is Microsoft Silverlight? I work on a mac and would prefer not to download Microsoft products. Can you post the videos in another format (quicktime, h264, flash)?
Thanks
Chris says, "Hi Sarah. Silverlight is a crossplatform plugin like Flash or Silverlight that works just fine on Intel Macs and PCs and also works in FireFox and Safari. The videos are encoded in Silverlight because Microsoft is a sponsor of The Chicago Convergence and we are donating bandwidth to host all of the summit videos via a streaming service so that The Chicago Convergence can showcase the videos to as many folks as possible without having the Chicago Convergence invest in their own media and distribution servers. It's not possible for us to use to use this service without taking advantage of Silverlight.
I think you'll find Silverlight is a great technology for watching video (just like Flash and Quicktime) and it's allowing The Chicago Convergence the ability to distribute videos cost effectively and with higher quality than they'd be able to get with You Tube or having to go through the expense of purchasing their own media servers. If you're still uncomfortable installing Silverlight to view the videos The Chicago Convergence has promised they will offer other options soon.”
